Never heard the 8' though if the goal is to get the amp to sound bigger and fuller, you should be able to get a 10' speaker in the Pathfinder. I head two of those in an older solid state Vox head/cab combo and it was very impressive and the owner said the Webers were a big improvement. Yeah, its cheap, solid state and has limitations. Heres the rub: Carrolls amp is a Vox Pathfinder 15R. The 12' speaker and the large cab on the AC15VR produces much more clean or dirty volume, it moves more air and the sound is deep with loads of body. Youre comparing a very nice bedroom amp to a real amp. It gets mushy on the low strings when gained up for Metallica-type stuff. The AC15VR is about 5' taller than the Pathfinder also. It can do clean to blues to hard rock with a pedal pushing it.
